ArjanWrites got a lengthy interview with Martin Solveig when he was in Atlanta right before his performance at Opera Nightclub. In fact the interview is so jam packed with information that it was posted in two parts!
Solveig talks about the math behind making a good song (“50% [himself] and 50% the featuring vocalist”) and his unusual style of music video (“These videos, which often feature Solveig showing off his tennis or soccer skills, are much different than the typical dance music video that usually takes place in a club. On the origins on the Smash video series, Solveig says that he has “a lot of interest in cinema and I was working on my first short movie which was going to be a reinterpretation of a Wes Anderon movie about Tennis. I made the song to match the film we shot first and then the song became very popular!” “). You can read the entire first part of the interview here.
As for part two of the interview Martin discusses his collab with Madonna and how he “stopped almost everything else to do it”. He also discusses his upcoming collab with MIKA. You can read the entire second part here.
